York Barbell Company

York Barbell Company has one of the richest historical timelines of any company in our industry. Started in 1932 by icon Bob Hoffman, York Barbell Company and the subsequent York Barbell Lifting Club are staples of the history of weightlifting, so much so that today, the York Headquarters in (still located in York, Pennsylvania) houses the Weightlifting Hall of Fame. York was founded to help American weightlifters to better compete after the Los Angeles Olympics, and later went on to provide weightlifting equipment for the U.S. Military in World War II. While weights are commoditized these days, York still stands as a reputable brand synonymous with the spirit of weightlifting.
