Body-Solid's Olympic Rubber Grip Plates are our preferred residential plate. Solid, able to withstand drops, and the least likely to chip without moving up to a bumper plate, these sets are an excellent way to start your home gym. Convenient grip positions make loading and unloading easy, and purchasing a set with an included Olympic Bar makes for a perfect starter kit.
These OSR Plates are designed by Body-Solid with a thick rubber casing to prevent damage or scuffing to walls and floors in your workout area, and to prevent cracking of plates if they're dropped. They're designed for safety and accuracy and are a great starting point.
We recommend rubber free weights over cast in almost every scenario to avoid the liability of injury caused by chipping or flaking that can occur with no-coated plates.
These plates are also available "a la carte" in our showroom and warehouse for $2.00 per pound, as are bars and collars.
